Trumpet D♭ Major Scale Breakdown
Written D♭ Major features five flats (B♭, E♭, A♭, D♭, G♭) and sounds as Concert B Major on B♭ trumpet. Jazz improvisers love D♭ Major on trumpet because its dark, velvety valve combinations (1-2-3, 2-3, 1, 2, 2-3, 1, 0, 1-2) produce a rich flugelhorn-like warmth in ballads.
